Saudi Pro League club, Al Nassr, is reportedly deliberating between Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface and Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran as a replacement for Anderson Talisca, who recently signed with Fenerbahce.
Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, shared on X Wednesday, “Victor Boniface or Jhon Durán, one of them for Al Nassr… as revealed on Monday. Decision to follow soon.”
Earlier, the Saudi side initiated talks with Bayer Leverkusen for Boniface, with the German club setting his price tag at €50m.
The 24-year-old, who transferred to Leverkusen from Union Saint-Gilloise in 2023 for €20m, recently signed a contract extension lasting until 2029, placing him among the highest earners at the club.
Boniface had previously dismissed the idea of a move to Saudi Arabia when Victor Osimhen was linked to Al Ahli last summer.
“No, not now, I’m not thinking of that right now. Your career in Europe is also cash. When the time for more money comes, I will think about it,” Boniface had remarked.
Leverkusen’s coach, Xabi Alonso, acknowledged the ongoing talks about the striker’s future.
“There are discussions with the club; we have to wait. Our preparation for the game remains the same,” Alonso commented after Boniface missed training and was excluded from Leverkusen’s UCL match on Wednesday.
According to Sky Sports, Boniface has successfully passed a medical with Al Nassr and is reportedly on the brink of a move that would see him join Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane.
On the other hand, Aston Villa is reportedly hesitant to let go of Duran, who is also attracting interest from Real Madrid.
