The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has visited the scene of a collapsed storey building in Abuja.
PUNCH Metro had reported earlier that a two-storey building housing many business centres collapsed on Wednesday.
Many people were reportedly trapped in the building located around Garki II Abuja, with about 37 evacuated this morning.
The News Agency of Nigeria reported that arriving at the scene of the incident on Thursday morning, Wike insisted structures without approval will go down.
He reiterated his earlier verdict that buildings without proper approval within the nation’s capital would be pulled down.
He said, “This is what we are saying: any building without approval will go down.
“We don’t hate anybody. All we are saying is the proper thing should be done,” Wike said.
