The heart of Christ Embassy Church, nestled in the bustling Oregun area of Ikeja, Lagos State, found itself engulfed in flames on Sunday morning.
Videos from the scene, widely circulated on X, captured the intensity of the blaze, with officials from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service said to be bravely battling to contain the inferno.
One eyewitness, Augustine, took to X as Chief_Augustin1 to share a glimpse of the unfolding drama, stating, “Christ Embassy Church on Billings Way, Oregun, is on fire. Serious fire is raging, and men of the Lagos State Fire Service are working hard to put it off. Thank God service hasn’t commenced fully.”
The 16-second video footage revealed a crowd gathering outside the grand structure, as billows of smoke billowed skyward.
