Vice President Kashim Shettima and the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, are expected to attend the first national stakeholders summit of the Hajj Institute of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.
The summit, themed ‘Partnership, Collaboration and Teamwork; The Tripod of Success for 2024 Hajj operation,’ will take place between Thursday and Friday this week at the Musa Yar’Adua International Centre, Abuja.
The event aims to bring together officials and aviation industry experts to discuss the successful implementation of the 2024 Hajj.
Sponsored by Lotus Bank, the summit will be declared open by Vice President Kashim Shettima, with the Sultan of Sokoto delivering a goodwill message.
Other dignitaries expected at the event include FCT Minister Barrister Nyeson Wike, Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo SAN, Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Hassan Manakhra, Saudi Ambassador to Nigeria Mr. Faisal Ibrahim Al–Ghamidy, Professor Salisu Shehu, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs Senator Abubakar Sani Bello, Chairman of the House Committee on Hajj Affairs Hon. Jafaru Mohammed Ali, and the Vice Chancellor of Al-istiqama University, as well as Sumaila and Kafayat Araoye, Managing Director of Lotus Bank.
The summit will also be attended by chief executives of state pilgrims welfare boards/commissions/agencies from the 36 states and the FCT, the Armed Forces, private tour operators, Ulamas, medical, media, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Nigerian Immigration Service, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, airliners, and service providers. Discussions will focus on topics that will enhance the Nigerian Hajj industry and improve services for Nigerian pilgrims during this year’s holy pilgrimage.
