A barber identified simply as Otubong, who lodged in a hotel with yet-to-be-identified lady in Osina Street, Mile 2 area of Diobu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has died over alleged overdose of sex enhancers.
Otubong’s corpse was reportedly discovered on Friday morning in his hotel room.
A source in the area, said sachets of tramadol and energy drinks, black bullet, were found in the room, adding that the lady who he lodged with in the hotel on Thursday night had absconded before the corpse was discovered.
Another source identified as Prince said, “Information available to me indicates that the lady who was with the Man before his death was dating another guy.
“The lady, who absconded told the former guy that he was not satisfying her on bed and broke the relationship after she had first taste of the new guy not knowing that the deceased man was using different kind of drugs to improvise performance to impress the lady”.
A police source who also confirmed the incident said that the two black bullet drinks, two packs of tramadol and another sex enhancing drug were found at the scene.
It was said that the incident had been reported to Azikiwe Divisional Police headqurters, Illabouchi, Mile 2 Diobu in the state.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time a hotel guest has reportedly died of sex enhancer abuse in Rivers.
On February 17, 2023, The Punch reported that an unidentified male hotel guest slumped and died a few hours after checking in with a female companion at Ada George in the Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of the state.
A hotel guest, who preferred anonymity disclosed that at about 2am on of the said Wednesday, the lady who checked in with the deceased rushed out of their room and banged at the door of another guest to raise the alarm that her male partner had slumped.
However, the acting spokesperson for the state police command then, Grace Iringe-Kokom confirmed the incident, saying the lady and the manager of the hotel had been arrested.
