Nigerian singer Reekado Banks has raised concerns about an influential figure in the entertainment industry whom he accused of hindering the growth of young talents.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Afrobeats star suggested that the unnamed individual is either “absolutely clueless or plain demonic.”
He claimed that several rising artistes had suffered setbacks after crossing paths with this person, leading to stalled or completely derailed careers.
“One day, I’ll take an interview to talk about someone in the corners of the entertainment industry, who’s either absolutely CLUELESS or plain DEMONIC,” Reekado Banks wrote.
He further alleged that this industry player convinces young artistes to accept unfavorable agreements that ultimately limit their potential or push them out of the industry altogether.
Following his remarks, speculation arose among fans, with many suggesting that he might be referring to Don Jazzy, the CEO of Mavin Records, which was once Reekado Banks’ label.
However, the singer was quick to shut down those assumptions.
“It may not be obvious to you all, but I’m definitely not referring to Baba J [Don Jazzy]. Ejo lol, pls n thanks,” he clarified.
Although he refrained from revealing the individual’s identity, Reekado Banks hinted that he plans to disclose more details in a future interview.
