The Osun State Police Command has rescues a woman who was among the abducted passengers of a commercial vehicle along the Osogbo-Ikirun Road.
Police made the news of the rescue was known on Sunday, according to Daily Post.
Recall in the early hours of Friday, some travellers were abducted at Ayepe Community, along the Osogbo-Ikirun Road by unknown gunmen.
While confirming the rescue, the Police Public Relations Officer in Osun State, Yemisi Opalola, disclosed that the operations to free other abducted passengers have commenced.
Opalola also stated further that the driver of the vehicle that was attacked by the gunmen had been found.
She said, “The operatives rescued the kidnap victim of Ikirun/Osogbo Road abduction that occurred on Friday.
“The woman has been rescued alive and taken to the hospital for necessary medical attention.”
