Gunmen have kidnapped a lady identified as Benifica Haruna in Fadan Ikulu Chiefdom, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Accordinh Daily Post, the lady was abducted in the early hours of Tuesday.
A source said that the kidnappers stormed the area and started shooting sporadically to scare people away.
The mother of the victim, Sarauniyan Ikulu, who confirmed the abduction explained that her daughter was in her room when they heard gunshots.
She said, “My daughter called me that she was going to hide somewhere in the house, unknown to us, we were their target. They (kidnappers) succeeded in taking my daughter away.”
She stated further that the kidnappers came on vehicles and motorcycles and they operated for almost two hours unchallenged.
She called on the security agencies to ensure that her daughter was rescued.
She said, however, that she had not received any information from the kidnappers.
When contacted, the Kaduna Sate Command’s spokesman, DSP Muhammed Jalige, could not respond to calls as of the time of filing this report.
