Oloro of Oro kingdom in the Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara state, Oba AbdulRafiu Olaniyi Ajiboye Oyelaran I, is dead.
The Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq in Ilorin on Saturday, in a statement said the monarch joined his ancestors in the early hours of Saturday.
Abdulrazaq, in the statement, described the late monarch as a peacemaker, a father figure to all, and a man who was passionate about the development of his kingdom.
“Governor AbdulRazaq said the Oloro will be missed for his forthrightness, his commitment to peace and unity, and his successes.
“He prays to Almighty Allah to grant forgiveness and Al-jannah Firdaus to Oba AbdulRafiu, and to give the people of Oro Kingdom and his family the strength to carry on his fine legacies”, the statement said.
Also, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has sent his condolence message to the people of Oro kingdom over the demise of the Oloro of Oro, Oba Abdulrafiu Ajiboye Oyelaran I.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, in a condolence message, described late Oba Oyelaran as a traditional ruler with strong-will for community and human capital development.
“He was a peaceful monarch, innovative and committed to the development of his community and subjects. The entire members of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council commiserate with the government and people of the state over the colossal loss.
“May Almighty Allah comfort the family members both immediate and extended, Oloro-In-Council, as well as residents of the community over the unfortunate incidence,” he said
The Emir then prayed that Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds and admit him into Al-janatul firdaus.
