Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have stormed Kwayamawa village and kidnapped a businessman, Alhaji Shehu Aliyu in Dutse Local Government, Jigawa State.
The State Police Command Spokesman, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the incident to newsmen.
He said the police received a report that on Friday 17/10/2023, unknown gunmen in numbers abducted Alh. Shehu Aliyu after they collected money from him in his residence at Kwayama village in Dutse Local Government.
A resident revealed that the incident occurred on Friday at about 2:30 am.
He said the gunmen wielding dangerous weapons went to the house of the victim and whisked him away to an unknown destination after collecting the sum of N3 million.
Speaking further on the incident, the police spokesperson said efforts by the police were on to ensure the victim is rescued unharmed.
He urged residents to assist the police with any useful information that would help in arresting the suspects.
This is coming weeks after gunmen abducted two wives of Kiyawa Local Government chairman.
