The Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has verified the invasion of a community in the state’s Keffi Local Government Area by gunmen, who kidnapped and took four students from the state’s university to an unknown destination.
According to The PUNCH, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the event, DSP Ramhan Nansel, explaining that the pupils were abducted in the early hours of Tuesday near Angwan Ka’are in the LGA.
He did, however, say that the Commissioner of Police, Maiyaki Baba, has launched a manhunt for the perpetrators in order to save the victims’ lives.
“The command is aware of the kidnapping at about 12:55 am as a distress call was received that a house located at Angwan Kaare in Keffi was invaded by unidentified armed men.
“The police in collaboration with the military, responded accordingly and combed the area, but to no avail.
“The Commissioner of Police has ordered a manhunt for the culprits with a view to rescuing the four victims unhurt,” he said.
