Gombe state governor, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya on Friday delivered appointment letters to 1,000 graduates selected for employment in the state civil service as secondary school teachers around the state.
Daily Trust reported that after presenting the newly hired teachers with their appointment letters, Governor Yahaya stated that their hiring was intended to reorient the state’s educational system in order to keep up with the problems and realities of the twenty-first century.
He said that since taking office in 2019, he has declared a state of urgency in the education sector and increased capital funding in the 2020 and 2021 budgets by 60%.
Governor Yahaya stated that five secondary schools were totally refurbished, furnished, and converted to mega colleges, and that over 1,327 classrooms were erected, restored, and supplied.
