At least four people were reportedly dead with many injured as an 18- passenger Toyota Hummer bus with registration number JJJ 941 XA somersaulted along Ibadan/Oyo expressway on Saturday.
The Atiba Unit Commander Federal Road Safety Corps, DCC Bayode Olugbesan, said the accident was caused by over speeding and overloading.
He stated further that 20 people were involved in the accident but only four were confirmed dead at State Hospital, Oyo, adding four people who died in the accident had been taken to the mortuary.
“All the victims are male and their destination is North, the cause of the crash was over speeding and overloading, the bus was supposed to carry 14 passenger but was loaded with 20 passengers,” he stressed
He then urged motorists to observe safety rules and regulations while driving.
