Federal Government has reserved 35 per cent allocation for women in he ongoing recruitment of federal fire service operatives.
Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, diclosed this via his official X, formerly Twitter handle on Friday, while giving an update on the recruitment exercise into the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Service Board.
He noted government has approved a 35 per cent allocation for women.
Tunji-Ojo, who doubled as the Chairman of the Board, explained that the decision in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda to elevate women’s participation in critical sectors.
“Today (Friday), as the Chairman of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), I approved the allocation of a substantial 35 per cent recruitment slot for women into agencies under the Ministry of Interior, beginning from the ongoing recruitment into the Federal Fire Service.
“This strategic decision aligns with the #RenewedHope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) to elevate women’s participation in crucial sectors to at least 35 per cent”, he wrote.
The Board announced the commencement of recruitment on 27th December last year.
