Two persons accused of witchcraft were buried alive by a mob in the Konshisha Local Government Area in Benue State.
They were alleged of being behind the thunder strike that affected one Henry Ihwakaa, his wife and a two-week-old child.
It was gathered that Ihwakaa, the father of Henry, was alleged by the youths of casting spell on people with thunder storm in the area any time it rains.
The Nation reported that on the day the incident occured, the youths gathered and attacked Ihwakaa and his alleged collaborator. They later dug a shallow grave and buried them alive.
According to an eye witness and elder in the community, Engr Baba Agan, following the development, the matter was reported to the police in Konshisha local government where the Divisional Police Officer mobilised his men to the scene of the incident.
However, when the police team arrived, the two had already died in the grave and their bodies exhumed.
Contacted, the Benue Police Public Relations Officer, SP Sewuese Anene confirmed the incident, noting that the two suspects have been apprehended and investigation was on going.
The spokesman warned the general public against taking law into their hands.
