The Medical Director of Dansadau General Hospital in the Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Dr Mansur Muhammad, has been kidnapped by bandits.
According to Daily Trust, the CMD was kidnapped at Mashayar Zaki, a dreaded spot along the 100 km Gusau-Dansadau Road.
The Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association in the state, Dr Mannir Bature, said his association received with deep shock the report of the kidnap of their colleague.
“We urge our members and the general public to include him and other captives in their prayers while the association work with relevant authorities to ensure his timely release in good health,” he said.
The Gusau-Dansadau road has become a nightmare for travellers, with many passengers avoiding the route.
Several people plying the road have been kidnapped or killed in recent times.
