The Adamawa State Police Command in has said that the dreaded Shila Boys in the state have killed a 37-year-old man, identified as Umar Abdulkadir.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed this in an interview in Yola on Saturday, according the News Agency of Nigeria.
Shila Boys are light weapon-bearing youths who terrorize some communities in Adamawa and other places.
They specialise in snatching mobile phones, pieces of jewellery, and other valuables.
Nguroje said the incident happened in the early hours of Saturday when the youths attempted to snatch Abdulkadir’s mobile phones on Ajiya Street in Yola-North Local Government Area.
He said the command received the information at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Nguroje said an investigation into the killing had begun to enable the arrest of all those involved.
