A 22-year-old woman, Mika Shabasova, passed away during buttock enlargement surgery performed by an unqualified beautician in Russia.
According to a report by the Daily Mail, Mika passed away shortly after receiving anaesthesia from the beautician, within a span of ten minutes.
A cosmetologist, Uma M, is currently under house arrest following the death of a patient at her residence-based clinic. The patient had already passed away prior to the arrival of the ambulance.
Based on the report, the beautician provided the £154 procedure following her completion of a two-week course.
Uma M. informed state investigators in Makhachkala that she administered lidocaine, a local anaesthetic, to numb the victim’s skin multiple times. Additionally, she inquired about any allergies the victim might have had.
The beautician, who had previously worked as a waitress, was doing cosmetic surgery without the required licence, including lip, cheek, and buttock enlargements.
The Russian Investigative Committee reported: “A 22-year-old Makhachkala resident died on the spot following the injection of an anaesthetic while visiting her acquaintance, who performs cosmetic treatments at home.
“All the incident’s circumstances are currently being established,”
According to Mika’s buddy, he had advised her against getting the buttocks treatment that Uma M had marketed.
The cosmetician who was to execute the procedure had just recently earned a certificate.
“She completed a two-week course and became a cosmetologist. Prior to that, she was doing lash extensions,” he said.
