Nigerian musician Seun Kuti has shared his displeasure about not being invited to the wedding of popular Afrobeats artist Davido and his wife, Chioma.
Speaking during an interview on Curiosity Made Me Ask, hosted by IsBae U, Kuti revealed that despite Davido frequently visiting his family’s shrine, he was not extended an invitation to the star-studded wedding.
Kuti noted that Davido would often come to the shrine with large entourages, but would leave without paying.
“Davido comes to the shrine all the time,” he said. “He brings about 100 people, drinks, and doesn’t pay gate fees or anything.”
He expressed his disappointment further, saying, “When it came time for his wedding, I didn’t receive an invitation. I was really hurt. I couldn’t sleep for a week.”
Davido and Chioma tied the knot in a high-profile ceremony on June 25, 2024, attended by a host of prominent figures from various sectors.
