General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, recently addressed the issue of sexual temptations during a sermon at the Ministers & Workers Conference of RCCG Americas 1.
The 82-year-old cleric, known for his impactful teachings, emphasized the ongoing struggle against sexual immorality despite his advanced age and esteemed position in ministry.
Referring to the biblical story of Samson, Adeboye cautioned ministers about the dangers of presuming immunity to temptation due to their spiritual ‘anointing’.
He shared, “Somebody might ask, why at your age are you still cautious? I run even faster now because as you approach the finish line, greater vigilance is required.”
Adeboye underscored the vulnerability even with spiritual anointing, highlighting Samson’s downfall despite his remarkable strength and anointing.
“Does anointing turn your body into stone? Samson, though anointed, fell prey to a woman’s charm,” he noted, urging the younger generation to heed this warning.
He humorously quipped about the persistent allurements faced by men in ministry, saying, “You may think, ‘Who would be interested in an 82-year-old?’ It’s not about her interest in you but her intent to undermine the great works God has done through you.”
Throughout his sermon, Adeboye stressed the need for ministers to remain vigilant against sexual temptations, advising, “If you see that woman smiling at you everywhere, and she is not your wife, run.”
The sermon, shared on his YouTube page, resonated deeply within the congregation, reaffirming the timeless wisdom of maintaining moral integrity amidst spiritual leadership.
