Mexican actor Adan Canto, renowned for his roles in popular television series “Designated Survivor” and the superhero film “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” has tragically passed away after battle with cancer.
According to the AFP, the news was confirmed by his publicist, Jennifer Allen, who revealed that Canto had been privately battling appendiceal cancer.
In a heartfelt statement, Allen expressed that Adan possessed a profound spirit that was known to only a few.
“Adan had a depth of spirit that few truly knew. Those who glimpsed it were changed forever,” Allen wrote in a statement. “He will be greatly missed by so many.”
Born in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico, and raised in Texas, Canto embarked on his career at the tender age of16.
He initially ventured into the world of music as a singer-songwriter, before transitioning to acting.
His television debut occurred in2009 with the Mexican series “Estado de Gracia.” Canto later made his American debut in Kevin Williamson’s2013 Fox drama series “The Following,” alongside renowned actor Kevin Bacon.
