In the lead-up to WWE’s Bash in Berlin, the celebrated four-time world champion, Sheamus, made an unexpected admission following a special gift from Borussia Dortmund, candidly revealing his strong dislike for Real Madrid.
The Irish wrestling star, known for his high-flying moves and intense charisma, was elated when Dortmund’s captain, Emre Can, handed him the club’s 2024/25 season home shirt.
This special moment was captured and shared on Borussia Dortmund’s official Instagram account, showcasing Sheamus’s genuine appreciation. “I appreciate that. I’m honoured. Thank you,” he expressed.
Sporting the club’s iconic black and yellow jersey for the first time, Sheamus couldn’t hide his enthusiasm.
The 46-year-old Dublin native spoke warmly about his admiration for the German team, particularly during their Champions League journey.
Dortmund had delivered a stellar performance throughout the tournament, although they fell to a 2-0 defeat against Real Madrid in the final held at Wembley on June 1.
Reflecting on Dortmund’s campaign, Sheamus shared, “First of all I wanna say to you… I was rooting for you guys [Dortmund] against Real Madrid in the Champions League. You guys played an awesome game. Great tournament all the way to the final, I love the story.” He then added, with a touch of dramatic flair, “I really, really hate Real Madrid.”
This visit from Sheamus comes just days before WWE’s Bash in Berlin, a landmark event as Germany hosts its first-ever WWE pay-per-view.
Scheduled for August 31, the event promises an electrifying lineup. The world heavyweight champion, Gunther, will defend his title in his home region near Vienna, Austria, against the formidable Randy Orton, who is on a quest for his 15th world title.
Fans can also look forward to other thrilling matches, including CM Punk versus Drew McIntyre in a high-stakes strap match and a mixed tag team clash featuring Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley taking on Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan.
