The organized labor, which includes the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, has announced their intention to stage a nationwide strike in response to the assault and abduction of their President, Joe Ajaero.
This strike is set to take place on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, and was revealed during a press briefing on Friday.
The joint union leaders have presented a six-point demand to the Federal Government. This includes the immediate removal of the Commissioner of Police in Imo State and the Area Commander, among other officials, due to their alleged involvement in the mistreatment and humiliation of Ajaero and fellow workers.
