Suspected gunmen stormed Runji – Sankwab village, Atyap Chiefdom in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Wednesday night, reportedly killing a woman and burnt several houses.
This happens to be the third attack in about three weeks – where the first attack killed not fewer than 33 people and burnt down about 40 houses.
According to a report by Daily Post, a source disclosed that one of the houses completely burn down including the Baptist Church.
“The attackers came to the village in their numbers to carry out their mission but for the quick intervention of the military personnel, the situation was brought under control and as l am talking to you, a search is ongoing to ascertain the number of casualties suffered in the area,” a source disclosed.
The source called on the federal and Kaduna State governments to take proactive measures to avert the ugly incidents happening in Atyap land, saying that the inhabitants had witnessed incessant attacks leading to the loss of lives and destruction of valuables.
