Star artist, Wizkid’s “Essence” featuring Tems from his 2020 “Made In Lagos” album, has accomplished a significant new commercial milestone in the US.
The GRAMMY-nominated song recently received a 3x Platinum certification from the Recording Idustry Association of America, this week.
The seismic salutation crown sold 3 million pieces in the US resulting in the Platinum certification.
This is sure a significant victory for Afrobeats in general.
Since his fourth studio album, “Made in Lagos,” dropped on October 20, 2020, the Afrobeats superstar has been enjoying success. The album featured performances by H.E.R., Burna Boy, Tems, Ella Mai, Terri, Tay Iwar, Projexx, and Damian Marley.
The album’s deluxe edition, which was nominated for ‘Best Global Album’ at the 64th Grammy Awards, featured a collaboration between Wizkid, Justin Bieber, and BNXN aka Buju.
