Arsenal Midfielder, Jorginho, has explained how he vouched for Nigerian international, Victor Osimhen, before he joined current Seria A league leaders, Napoli.
In an interview with DAZN, the former Chelsea player, stated that Napoli Sporting Director, Cristiano Giuntoli, had called him shortly before signing Osimhen, to inquire about Osimhen.
“I knew Osimhen. I had played against him in the Champions League and he had given a hard time to our defenders.
“Giuntoli called me before signing him and I told him to sign him straightaway, he is very promising and is doing really well. There is winning energy,” Jorginho told DAZN.
Osimhen would eventually made the move from Lille, in the French League One side to the Italian side in 2022.
The move has seen the Nigerian international becoming a popular figure at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
He currently leads the top scorer chart in Serie A with 18 goals from 19 appearances.
