The lead pastor of the Trinity House Church, Lagos, Ituah Ighodalo, has revealed why he didn’t marry another wife following the death of his wife, Ibidun.
Recall that Ighodalo lost his wife, Ibidun, on June 14, 2020. She had died of heart attack while working on COVID-19 isolation centres in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Speaking during an interview with Arise TV, Ighodalo said, “It is not possible to say I would never remarry, but if I had my way, I am okay. I am happy and my life is not complicated. I am looking after my children, and I am doing well. I might consider it when my children are older. My daughter has also warned me not to remarry (laughs).”
He also added that his children were not lacking of mother figures in their lives. He said, “I have been lucky. They (children) have about four women (as mother figures) in their lives. They include my mother in-law (their maternal grandmother), my brother’s wife, Ifeyinwa; my sister, Toluwalope; and Dami, who used to be Ibidun’s personal assistant. And, she has continued in that role.”
When asked if Dami was single, Ighodalo said, “She is single, but is like a daughter to me. She is a good friend’s child, and I practically brought her up.”
While explaining how he had been coping with being a widower and wading off female attention, Ighodalo said, “I am coping well, because I was a bachelor for a long time and I know the game. I am very clear in my thoughts, and I would not be in the same space with any woman just by myself. I am always either with my personal assistant, special assistant or chief of staff. Or, they (women) would come to my home, where there are maids around.”
