Nollywood actor Femi Brainard has said despite the challenges faced abroad he has chosen not to return to Nigeria due to the unfavourable economic conditions.
Mr Femi who made this known in an interview with Teju Baby said that his decision to stay abroad was influenced by the economic challenges, recalling that he left Nigeria when the price of a sachet of water was reaching N10.
He said “The time wey I dey naija, pure water don dey enter N10, na that tiem I borrow my sef brain small.
“God has been good; life has been challenging. 2014 October 8 was when I left. We had to leave.
“She left first, I had to run to Ibadan for eight months on set to shoot, Taste of Love. My parents didn’t even know. At times it will be so hard, I no go get money for hand. The truth of the matter is if do not have a shoulder to cry on, a family and face, for yanke if you no work you no go chop.
“There was a time bills bills, That bottle of coin saved my family and I for months. What I made wasn’t much My wife counted the coins and we got to 200 dollars to add to the rent.
“We could have come back, but Nigeria economy doesn’t work. A new bee here in the United state, bros just come under two three months. Within a year or so he was working and he got a house. Saved up and bought a house.
“Bros, you fit buy house for naija?. Say he small you go need like three million for land, the foundation alone, they will ask you for your ancestors history just to lay the foundation.”
