Bayern Munich have internally considered appointing Vincent Kompany as their next manager, despite Burnley’s relegation to the Championship after just one season in the Premier League.
Transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, revealed this on his X handle.
Kompany reportedly fits the profile Bayern are seeking in their prolonged search for Thomas Tuchel’s successor.
Romano noted that the Bundesliga giants are prepared to bring Kompany from Burnley to replace Tuchel.
“Vincent Kompany has been considered as an option at several clubs in recent days despite relegation with Burnley.
“Understand FC Bayern have discussed Kompany internally among possible candidates for the job.
“Brighton, still waiting to make a decision on a new coach.”
Fabrizio Romano further reported that several Premier League and European clubs are also interested in ex-Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany. Brighton, currently without a manager after Roberto De Zerbi’s departure, is one potential option.
Bayern Munich, who finished third in the Bundesliga this season, have not yet finalized their new manager.
They have already faced rejections from Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, and Ralf Rangnick, and have been linked with other high-profile managers such as Roger Schmidt, Hansi Flick, Zinedine Zidane, and Jose Mourinho.
Despite their attempts to replace Thomas Tuchel, who has now overseen his last game for the club, Bayern have not succeeded.
Following rejections from high-profile coaches, Bayern Munich seems inclined to settle for Vincent Kompany. This decision comes after Burnley’s relegation, where Kompany’s team managed to collect only 24 points this season.
