Nigeria’s sprinter, and Commonwealth gold medalist, Oluwatobiloba Amusan, wrote her name into the history books as she broke a 22-year-old record in the ongoing Diamond League in Zurich, Switzerland.
Amusan broke the record which was held by Gail Devers since the year 2000.
The Nigerian came into the race to defend the title that she won in 2021 having recently set a world record at the just concluded World Championship.
She now holds the new Diamond League record of 12.29 seconds and a World record of 12.12 seconds.
