Nigerian music icon, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has set the record straight regarding his recent social media activity.
Contrary to earlier reports, the artist confirmed that his Instagram account was not hacked, as he personally made the post about his separation from his wife, Annie Macaulay.
This clarification comes after 2Baba initially claimed his Instagram account had been compromised
In a previous statement, he assured fans that efforts were underway to recover the account, saying, “My Instagram account has been hacked, efforts are being carried out to take back control #onelove!”
However, in a surprising twist, 2Baba released a video on Sunday, that has since gone viral, refuting the hacking claims. In the video, he candidly stated, “My people, nobody hacked my account.”
He went on to confirm that he and his wife, Annie, have been separated for some time and are now in the process of filing for divorce.
The legendary musician had previously addressed the matter on his Instagram page, sharing an emotional message with his fans.
He wrote, “Hello to my beautiful people of all federations. Well, this thing I have to say is short but also long…I and Annie Macaulay have been separated for a while now, and currently filed for divorce.
“I would grant a press release soon to say my story. Not because it is anyone’s right to know about my personal life but because I love my people and I need them to know my innocence or offense. Stay blessed my people. I love you all.”
This announcement follows months of public speculation about the couple’s relationship, which was marred by accusations of infidelity Annie had previously leveled against 2Baba.
