A man from the United States,Moses Gibson, has undergone a surgery to increase his height in order to raise his self-esteem.
According to the Daily Mail, Gibson had suffered from insecurity about his height since he was 15 years old and struggled with talking to women owing to self-doubt after seeing other males his age go through growth spurts that he did not.
In a desperate bid to get taller, he took drugs and even contacted a’spiritual healer’ online who claimed to be able to help him grow.
After exhausting all other alternatives, Moses chose to get surgery to expand his size.
Speaking about how he struggled with his height, he said, “I’ve struggled with my height. Even when I was in high school, I was always unhappy with my height.
“When I was like 15, I realized most of my peers were taller than me. It started getting to me gradually.”
He became acquainted with a surgical technique that could extend the length of his lower extremities, prompting him to increase his work hours in order to accumulate the necessary funds for the procedure while pursuing his undergraduate studies.
Following a period of three years in which he worked as a software engineer during the day and as an Uber driver at night, Moses underwent a surgical procedure in 2016 to augment his height by three inches. However, seven years later, he has undergone a second round of surgery and is currently utilizing a device designed to lengthen his height.
The medical professionals fractured Moses’ tibia and fibula bones and subsequently implanted magnetic nails for the purpose of limb-lengthening.
He is required to utilize a height-lengthening apparatus thrice daily, which involves incrementally pulling apart the severed bones by one millimeter each time.
