Super Falcons star, Asisat Oshoala, set a new record by scoring the first-ever penalty kick for Bay FC, securing a 1-0 victory over Racing Louisville at Lynn Family Stadium.
In the 76th minute, Oshoala calmly sent the goalkeeper the wrong way, notching the game’s only goal after Princess was fouled inside the box.
The referee awarded the penalty after reviewing the play on the monitor.
This milestone adds to Oshoala’s impressive start with Bay FC, where she previously scored the club’s first-ever goal on her debut in the USA.
Her tally now stands at three goals in the US Women’s National Soccer League, all scored away from home in 2024.
Bay FC’s victory over Racing Louisville marked their second straight win and their third clean sheet of the season.
The team has been in excellent form, winning four of their last six games, including two consecutive shutouts.
Despite conceding multiple goals only once in this period, they have managed to score in four out of six games, securing their sixth victory of the regular season.
Bay FC’s triumph against Racing Louisville positions them in the eighth and final playoff spot after 15 games.
However, fellow Super Falcons star Uchenna Kanu did not feature in the match for Racing Louisville.
Bay FC will look to continue their winning streak when they host the Washington Spirit at PayPal Park on Saturday, July 6.
