American gospel artist, Deitrick Haddon recently turned 50 and celebrated his milestone with a party that stirred up controversy on social media.
The cause of the uproar was a video where Haddon’s wife performed a twerking dance for him publicly.
Haddon took to social media to share the video, expressing his joy and appreciation for his wife’s playful gesture.
He wrote: This is how you turn 50!! You gotta get a good twerk from your wife! Oh yeeeeeeah!
This was her at the party so you can imagine my personal after party!! 😋Every great man of God needs a wife that can pray and play!! Amen.”
The post quickly garnered mixed reactions from online users, with some praising the couple’s openness and celebration of love, while others criticized the public display as inappropriate for a man of faith.
Haddon addressed the backlash with a follow-up post, refusing to apologize and urging those offended to maturely handle the situation.
In his response, Haddon emphasized the importance of open communication in relationships and finding a partner who can meet one’s needs. He encouraged single individuals to seek partners who could accommodate their desires, emphasizing the freedom to express love openly.
Haddon also expressed his determination to continue sharing his love and appreciation for his wife publicly, despite the criticisms.
In his words; “FYI: I don’t apologize for getting a little twerk from my wife for my 50th Birthday! The fact that this is big news really concerns me.☝🏾🧐 Whoever has a problem with it, I want you to stop crying like a baby and be mature. You can handle it because you and I both know you’ve done worse and seen worse.
“The fake outrage is nauseating! Don’t make the prophet come out. I’ve been trying to be nice. 😏 Just ask God to help you communicate to your spouse and tell them what you need in order to be happy. To the my single saints find you someone that can accommodate your needs, marry them and enjoy yourself.
“I promise when I see a post of you and you significant other dancing, I will have absolutely nothing to say but “Don’t stop get it get it!
“I’m just trying to figure out who told ya’ll to take your love private!! 👀 Talking bout you gone make somebody stumble. Well hopefully they’ll stumble up on true love and be free to express that love in public. The world needs to see your real relationship with God and with your spouse.
“It’s time! Everything and everybody else is bold. I’m gonna be bold with showing my kids how much I like and love their mother!!! If you have a problem with that you’re not invited to the next party!! The next big Deitrick & @domerella party is happening July 16th here in L.A! It’s our 10 year wedding anniversary so we’re renewing our vows and dancing the night away! Yeeeeup!!”
While the controversy surrounding the twerking video continues to divide opinions, Haddon announced plans for an upcoming event to celebrate his 10th wedding anniversary with his wife, Dominique.
The event, scheduled for July 16th in Los Angeles, will include a vow renewal ceremony and a night of dancing
