A US fighter jet has crashed in South Korea during a training exercise on Monday.
It was reported that the pilot was rescued after making an emergency escape.
“The jet crashed into the waters after taking off from an air base in Gunsan, 178 kilometers south of Seoul,” the agency reported, referring to waters in the Yellow Sea.
United States Forces Korea, responsible for American soldiers stationed in the South, was not immediately accessible to verify the report.
In a separate incident in May, another US F-16 jet crashed during a routine training session in a farming area located south of Seoul.
Fortunately, the pilot ejected safely, and the accident resulted in no additional casualties.
