A 400-level student of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ilorin, Ologundudu Joseph Adesunkanmi, popularly known as Royal prince has emerged as the 36th substantive president-elect of the University Students’ Union.
This was contained in a message made available to newsmen shortly after the election results were announced, while winner expressed his gratitude to those who voted for him.
Adesunkanmi who emerged as the winner after beating three other candidates for the top position, wrote “The 36th Students’ Union President Elect, University of Ilorin. Thank you UNILORITES for choosing excellence.”
The Agricultural student, who is currently serving as the General Secretary of the institution’s Students’ Union, has earlier vowed to prioritize the welfare of the students.
While declaring his intent message ahead of the election, he stressed the need to consolidate on the achievements recorded so far by the previous administrations of the Union, noting that he will not fail the students.
Other members elected to the Students’ body Central Executive Council include, Adegoke Rodiyah, Ronnyx as Vice President-elect, Permanent Site, Yusuf Bushrah as Vice President-elect,COHS, ZuluQuranaini Shukurat, SAIN, as General Secretary-elect, Atolagbe Oluwatobi Joseph as P.R.O elect, Agezeh Victor as Financial Secretary elect, and Balogun Abdullahi as Social Secretary elect, among others.
Students from various faculties of the university were also elected into the legislative arm of the Students’ Union in the just-concluded election.
