Liverpool cane into the game hoping to avenge previous loses against Real Madrid, however their hopes were dashed after Real Madrid put up an exciting display to defeat Liverpool in front of their home fans.
The Jurgen Klopp side started brightly as they scored the first two goals of the game.
Liverpool forward, Darwin Nunez, scored the opening goal of the game after he beautifully latched on to a pass from Mohamed Salah, in the fourth minute.
The lead was later doubled in the 10th minute after Salah, took advantage of an error made by Real Madrid’s goalkeeper, Cortious.
Real Madrid restored parity before the halftime ended after Vinicius Junior scored twice.
Real Madrid took their first lead of the game after Eder Militao, scored the third goal for the Los Blancos.
Benzema made it four and fifth goals respectively after scoring in the 56th minutes and 67th minutes.
