A Russian drone attack on the night of March 29 claimed the lives of two civilians and left at least 25 others injured in Kharkiv Oblast, according to Governor Oleh Syniehubov.
The victims, identified as a 67-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman, lost their lives in the assault.
Among the injured were five children aged between 5 and 17, with a 15-year-old girl and two other children requiring hospitalization. Syniehubov noted that the 15-year-old remains in serious condition.
Residents of Kharkiv reported multiple explosions echoing through the city that evening.
The strikes caused significant damage, impacting a shopping center, several apartment buildings, a medical facility, and an office building, as stated by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terehov.
Fires broke out in various parts of the city as a result of the attack.
Situated in northeastern Ukraine, Kharkiv Oblast frequently endures missile, drone, and glide bomb strikes launched from either Russian-held areas or across the border.
Since the beginning of its full-scale invasion in February 2022, Russia has repeatedly targeted Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure through aerial bombardments.
