Social media was set buzzing on Sunday after it emerged that popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido is among the beneficiaries of the National Honors Awards.
Premium Politics reported that the federal government on Sunday released a list of several Nigerians who would be conferred various national awards.
In the list obtained by PUNCH METRO, Davido is expected to be conferred the Officer of the Order of the Niger award.
A tweep @MK, while reacting to the development tweeted, “Davido deserves a National honor for this gesture!”
Another tweep, @Kelly Bonito while applauding the decision tweeted, “National hero. A living legend 🙏🤣 OON. Children children will study Davido in school ”
Former CBN deputy governor, Kingsley Moghalu also took to his Twitter page to commend Davido, whom he said has made significant contributions to his generation.
“Not surprising given the global impact of Nigerian artistes of their generation (@davido @wizkidayo @KizzDaniel etc). Which vision of Nigeria’s future will prevail?,” he tweeted.
