Nigerians have taken to the social media to reacts to the defeats of Nigerian born fighters, Anthony Joshua and Kamaru Usman.
Usman ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’, lost his UFC Welterweight champion title to Leon Edwards, hours after Joshua lost his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk by split decision.
Usman, 35, was on his way to making the sixth defence of his 170lb title against Edwards after being up on the judges scorecards heading into the final round of the fight.
‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ was in control of the fifth round and seemed to be cruising his way to a decision win, but Edwards landed a perfect head kick that rendered him unconscious as he suffered his first-ever UFC defeat.
In the earlier match, Usyk out boxed Joshua and won by split decision, but the furious Nigerian took hold of two belts, threw them down and left the ring.

Joshua was visibly enraged in the ring after failing in his attempt to win back the unified WBO, WBA and IBF heavyweight titles from his nemesis Usyk.
Speaking in the early hours at the post-fight press conference, the former champion was still overcome with emotion.
Attempting to explain how he felt, he faltered as he choked back tears, holding his head in his hands.
Social media got buzzing almost immediately with many Nigerians reacting to the loss of both Nigerian fighters.
