One of the daughters of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), Mrs Aisha Hanan, has described her father as a silent achiever.
Hanan, on Tuesday, took to her Instagram story to share a photo of her father to praise him for his work over the past eight years as president.
Sharing a photo of her father during the Fleet Review held at the Naval Dockyard Limited in Victoria Island, Lagos, she wrote, “My Father … The Silent Achiever.”
Buhari, in the final week of his second term in office, has been inaugurating projects across the country. The president had on Monday reviewed the Presidential Fleet by the Nigeria Navy.
He also inaugurated the Dangote refinery on Monday, the biggest in Africa, owned by Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote.
The president also inaugurated the Second Niger Bridge on Tuesday, even as it was named after him.
In reacting to Aisha’s remark about her father, tweeps have expressed contrary opinions:
@Tony_Orumgbe wrote: “Very interesting…what an amazing achiever.
“On his watch:
– over 70,000 Nigerians killed needlessly
– inflation over 30%
– corruption running on steroids
– over 70 Trillion Naira national debt.
– over 120 million living in multi- dimensional poverty.
“Quite a record indeed.🤔”
Although, @MelvinJacs had something corroborative to write, as he stated that: “Your Dad has made great marks in so many ways and as the president of Nigeria.
“God bless your Dad; millions of Nigerians (patriotic) will forever be glad he led us uprightly.
“Thank you PMB, thank you to your noble family and posterity will always be kind to you.”
@Ugowilson alleged that: “He achieved so much by watching some Nigerians being massacred, progression of corruption, stealing of public fund and crude oil, progression of criminalities, progression of underdevelopment, progression of poverty, progression of lies, and progression of drug trafficking.”
Responding in sarcasm, @oladijidada wrote, “Silently achieved his aim of inflicting pain and agony on the people, silently achieved sowing discord and disunity, silently achieved the aim of setting the nation back by at least 50 years. Oh Yes! May we never experience such an achiever again.”
Another sarcastic remark trailed Hanan’s praise, by @Josephadic11, he wrote, “Yeah, A silent achiever indeed. A dollar to naira is N745 which is a very impressive achievement.
“41% Unemployment according to KMPG
“Insecurity is a thing of the past because farmers are going to their farms with no worries ‘Mangu farmers in plateau state’.”
