Three people have been reportedly crushed to death by a truck in Ikirun, Osun State.
According to The PUNCH, the driver who fled the scene of the incident was reported to be coming from Offa, Kwara State to Osun State on Friday.
It was also gathered that a protest was started in response to the accident which took the lives of two motorbike riders and a bystander.
However, some disgruntled neighbours staged a demonstration and attempted to kidnap from police some of the occupants of the truck who had been rescued from the scene.
Contacted, Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Paul Okpe, confirmed the accident, saying the truck was coming from Offa to Osun.
Okpe said, “Three people lost their lives. Two of them were on a motorcycle and the last one was just walking near the road. We lost lives due to reckless driving. We will keep engaging with the leadership of the truck drivers in the state to ensure safety on the road.”
