Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter, Tiwatope Savage, better known as Tiwa Savage is set to release her first feature film in 2024.
The singer made this announcement in a post on her X, formerly Twitter handle on Wednesday, noting that the title of the film is ‘#WaterAndGarri’.
Savage, an actress-cum-pop star noted that she had been working in the making for the past two years, adding that probably is one of the most adventurous and fulfilling things she had accomplished.
Expressing gratitude for making her debut as a lead actor, Savage noted that ‘WaterAndGarri’ will be released through @PrimeVideo and shown in 240 countries and territories across the world.
She wrote, “Guys, I’m so excited to announce that my first feature film #WaterAndGarri will be released *this year *through @PrimeVideo and shown in over 240 countries and territories worldwide!
“This has been over two years in the making and I must say this is probably one of the most adventurous, fulfilling things I’ve done.
“I feel blessed and honoured not only be making my debut as a lead actor, but to have also executively produced this film.
“I honestly can’t wait to take you guys along with me on this next phase of my life and art…. I’m just getting started.”
Tiwa Savage is one of the biggest pop stars to emerge from West Africa during the 2010s, with numerous hits and international awards to her name.
She sings in English and Yoruba with a blend of afrobeats, R&B, afropop, pop and hip-hop.
