President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to launch the Nigeria Police Green Initiative on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre in Abuja.
According to a statement by the Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the initiative aims to promote environmental sustainability within police operations and reduce the environmental footprint of their activities.
The statement added that the launch will feature activities such as tree planting, establishment of green zones, and promotion of sustainable practices among police personnel.
The statement reads in part, “The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, will on Thursday 25th July 2024, launch the Nigeria Police Green Initiative at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre, Jabi, Abuja.
“The Nigeria Police Green Initiative is an initiative of the NPF to promote environmental sustainability within our operations and facilities, as well as reduce the environmental footprint of our activities through the implementation of eco-friendly practices and the adoption of renewable energy sources.
“The launch of this initiative will include various activities such as tree planting, the establishment of green zones within police formations, and the promotion of sustainable practices among police personnel.
“We believe that through this initiative, the Nigeria Police Force can contribute significantly to the global efforts to combat climate change and protect our environment for future generations.”
