President Bola Tinubu has directed the reorganization of the Bureau of Public Procurement.
As part of this effort, the President has requested the resignation of Mr. Mamman Ahmadu as Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the BPP.
This is contained in a statement by the spokesperson of the presidency, Ajuri Ngelale on Saturday.
According to a statement from the Presidency, Mr. Ahmadu is to hand over the reins to the most senior officer in the Bureau, pending the appointment of a new Director-General.
The statement reads in part, “President Bola Tinubu has directed the resignation of Mr. Mamman Ahmadu from office as the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).
“This is part of a larger reorganization effort in the public procurement system to reposition the agency for greater efficiency and transparency.
“The Director-General is to hand over to the most senior officer in the Bureau, pending the appointment of a new Director-General.
“The President thanks Mr. Ahmadu for his services and wishes him success in his future endeavours.”
