Thunder strike kills three suspected kidnappers in Kwara
Thunderstorm has reportedly struck and killed three suspected kidnappers in Kwara State.
The incident was said to have occurred early this week in the agrarian Oro Ago community, Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.
It was learnt that the incident might not be unconnected with the resolve of local vigilance team in the Igbomina axis to curb security challenges in the area.
The video going viral revealed that the victims of the thunderstrike were suspected members of an eight-man kidnap gang, which reportedly operated in Iwo, Osun state about two weeks ago.
In the one-minute-13-second video clip, decomposing and charred bodies of three young persons, in their 20s in a bush, with flies all over the scene were revealed.
The voice in the short video clip said, “We are members of the vigilance team in Igbomina Kwara. Our efforts against those perpetrating evil and kidnapping people in our area had yielded fruits. Thunderstrike struck them dead. Three of them. God will continue to make us successful against the evil doers. We shall overcome them all by the grace of God. Thank you all”.
Another video clip showed some herders, said to be relations of the victims of the thunder strike, in a bush, lamenting their loss.
They linked the incident to act of God, saying that thunderstrike is from God and can never be man-made.
A member of Oro-Ago Development Union, a sociocultural organization of indigenes of the area, confirmed the incident.
Also, a source who preferred anonymity, added that members of the vigilance team in the area briefed the organisation on the development.
The Kwara State Police Commissioner, Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi, said that the command and its men had already commenced investigating the incident
Adelesi said the truth of the incident would be established after diligent investigation.
