Three persons have been confirmed dead, on Sunday, in a ghastly road accident on the Fidiwo bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
The spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Ogun State, Florence Okpe, said this in a statement made available to newsmen, noting that six males and three female adults sustained injuries from the incident.
The Guardian reported that, a total of 14 persons, nine male (adults), four female adults and one male child, were all involved in the incident.
She said, “A total of three persons were recorded dead, one male adult, one female adult and one male child.
Two vehicles were involved in the crash, a Nissan car with registration number LSR377BL and a Toyota Sienna bus marked ABJ24XV.”
Okpe added that the accident happened due to overspeeding as the tyre of the vehicle reportedly burst, causing the driver to lose control of his wheels.
“The Nissan car driver, while speeding, had a tyre bust. It lost control and rammed into the sienna vehicle,” she said.
Okpe added that the injured victims were taken to Victory Hospital in Ogere, while the bodies of the deceased were deposited at the State Hospital, Isara.
