Barcelona on Friday revealed that its German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, has signed a contract extension on Friday which will keep him at the club until 2028.
The contract included a buy-out provision for 500 million euros ($539 million), according to the club.
According to Spanish media, as part of the agreement, the 31-year-old custodian agreed to delay a portion of his compensation this season in order to comply with La Liga’s financial fair play standards.
Ter Stegen has appeared in 379 games for Barcelona since joining from Borussia Moenchengladbach in May 2014, and has been chosen club vice-captain this season.
