Supreme court judge, Justice Chima Centus (CC) Nweze has been reported dead.
According to Daily Post, Justice Nweze died on Sunday at the age of 64.
However, as of the time this story was filed, the Supreme Court has yet to confirm his demise.
Recall that Justice Nwaeze had, in a dissenting judgement in 2020, declared Emeka Ihedioha of the People Democratic Party, PDP, winner of the 2019 Governorship election in Imo State.
In a divided decision with a majority of three justices against two, Nweze issued a contentious ruling on behalf of the Supreme Court.
This ruling declared Ahmad Lawan, the former Senate President, as the legitimate candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the Yobe North Senatorial District in the general election held on February 25th.
Justice Nweze, hailing from Obollo in the Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State, was born on September 25, 1958.
