Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has made history as the first African, and notably Nigerian, to win the National Union of Professional Footballers award for the best goalkeeper in the French women’s league.
Nnadozie’s exceptional performances for Paris FC during the 2023/24 season earned her this prestigious recognition.
She triumphed over tough competition, including Olympic Lyon’s Christiane Endler, Katarzyna Kiedrzynek of Paris SG, FC Fleury’s Chloe N’Gazi, and Kinga Szemik of Stade de Reims, to clinch the coveted title.
The 23-year-old also recently secured the best goalkeeper award in the French D1 Arkema, women’s league.
Nnadozie’s remarkable ability to save penalties has further solidified her reputation as one of the world’s finest goalkeepers.
Having saved seven penalties this season, she holds the record for the highest number of penalty saves by any goalkeeper in Europe.
